====== Create own maps OSM ======

Since QuoVadis 7.3 we provide ready QV-OSM map packages, compiled for routing, directly in the QV-Xplorer in the directory "Download Packages", "QV-Map-Download" for automatic download and installation for free. Hints and explanations on how to use these map packages in QuoVadis7.3 can be found here in QV7 WiKi!

The same map packages are also found in the QuoVadis Mobile applications QVM-A V3, QVM-i V3 and later hopefully also in QVM-W V3. There, these packages could first be "found" via the tile, and more recently (in the future) they could also be downloaded and imported via a separate tile on the app's homepage. The offered packages are also routable there. Hints and explanations for using these map packages in QuoVadis Mobile V3 can be found in the QVM WiKi, here for QVM Android, here for QVM iOS!

These free map packages contain very little topographic information, especially in areas outside DE/A/CH. But the street details are often much more up-to-date than on available (often older) topo maps. For this reason, these packages are also very suitable as overlays on topo maps or satellite images to show the latest possible road layer.

Further down on this page you'll find a list of free map packages currently offered by QV (there in the QV-Xplorer, download packages) or on QVM V3.

Furthermore, QuoVadis7.3 includes a compiler for such map packages, with which anyone can compile their own maps from OSM data packages (*.pbf), limited only by the hardware equipment / RAM of their computer. These data packages can then be used in QV7.3 and QVM V3. The procedure is described in WiKi.

The only thing you need to use these free map packages is a current, licensed version of QuoVadis 7.3 or QuoVadis Mobile V3. If you need special map packages that are not included here, we can create them for you on request for a flat fee. All these compiled packages can only be used in the current QV / QVM programs.
